Waiting with a happy heart

A wise woman once said, "When one has to wait patiently you must wait with a happy heart." That wise woman is my mom and when I was kid I did not grasp the full concept. As a kid I never wanted to be patient I wanted that toy, ice cream cone, etc. and honestly even as an adult I don't enjoy being patient. The phrase waiting with a happy heart did not mean a lot to me as a kid. There is such a deeper meaning behind this simple phrase of wait with a happy heart. Who wants to wait with a happy heart? To be honest this the best advice I have heard. Everyone in the world is waiting for something whether its that new house, that job, that baby, or that one true love we all crave. For me I am waiting for that epic love story to happen to me. I have recently really thought about what my mom really meant about waiting happily. The deeper meaning is the way we are during the wait. Its being content during the wait, having a good attitude, being positive, and most of all counting your blessings! Waiting is a long journey but the real question is how I am waiting? I am trying to change my whole attitude while waiting for the man of my dreams. I redecorated my room, got new artwork, new bedding, finding a new hobby, and finding a job I love. These are the things I can accomplish without a man. After all, I can be happy single while waiting. I made peace with it for now and made a home for myself where I am. Waiting with a happy heart means while waiting to find happiness within! Happiness doesn't come from circumstances it comes from within during the circumstances. Things come when least expected and its always worth the wait even though the wait is at sometimes painful!
